i was first introduced to the concept of sushi nachos at the moana surfrider resort in hawaii and i’ve since become obsessed. this is the perfect snack for any sushi lover! you can customize the recipe with your favorite toppings, but crispy wontons are my absolute favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) package wonton wrappers
  • 6 oz. sushi-grade salmon
  • 6 oz. sushi-grade tuna
  • 6 tbsp. masago
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp. sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp. eel sauce
  • 2 tbsp. spicy mayo
  • 1 quart vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. slice wontons wrappers into triangles to form chips.
  2. in a large frying pan, heat vegetable oil to 350°F. drop in wonton chips and fry 2-3 minutes.
  3. remove from heat and set chips on paper towels to absorb excess oil. while
  4. hot, sprinkle chips with salt. transfer to a plate.
  5. chop salmon and tuna into small cubes and scatter over chips. layer on masago, then top with green onions and sesame seeds.
  6. drizzle spicy mayo and eel sauce over chips and enjoy!
