Passionfruit, orange and guava smoothie served inside pineapples.

Recipe-

Summary

whenever i visit Hawaii, i HAVE to grab a Hawaiian Sun POG juice as soon as i step off the plane. if you’ve never tried it, POG juice is a delicious blend of passionfruit, orange, and guava- the perfect combination for this refreshing smoothie! though i’d rather be sipping this while lounging on a beach in Honolulu, this smoothie will have you feeling like you just slipped away for a luxurious island getaway. you could just pour this into a glass, but i promise it’s worth going the extra mile to serve it in a hollowed-out pineapple to fully embrace the tropical vibes.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole pineapple
  • 1 cup passionfruit juice
  • 1 12 oz. can frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 1 11.5 oz. can guava juice
  • 3 tbsp. guava puree syrup
  • ½ cup ice

Instructions

  1. begin by coring your pineapple to make a “cup.” to do this, slice the pineapple about 2 inches from the top. set the top aside and place the pineapple upright- if it is not level, take another very small slice from the bottom until the pineapple sits flat.
  2. run a knife around the inside of the pineapple, taking care to avoid cutting through the skin. scoop out fruit and set aside (or snack on it as you go!). place pineapple “cup” in the freezer until ready to use.
  3. in a blender, combine orange juice concentrate, guava juice, passionfruit juice, guava puree, and ice. blend until smooth.
  4. pour smoothie into the pineapple cup, garnish with a cocktail umbrella, and serve with a straw.
