Schoolisha) would have been all about this simple, convenient snack. apples and peanut butter are the perfect hunger-busting combination to power through homework after a long day at school. these healthy, satisfying “sandwiches” don’t really require a recipe, but the key is in the preparation- i promise you’ll never want to eat apples and peanut butter any other way.

Ingredients

  • 1 large granny smith apple
  • 4 tbsp. creamy peanut butter
  • optional toppings: chocolate chips, granola, raisins, honey, cinnamon

Instructions

  1. slice vertically through the apple to create four thick, round slices.
  2. spread apple slices with peanut butter, then sprinkle with toppings of your choice before sandwiching with another apple slice.
  3. serve immediately, or spritz with lemon juice (to prevent browning) and tightly cover with plastic wrap for a healthy snack on-the-go.
