FOR THE PITA BREAD

  • 6 large pitas (i like to use papa pita’s white pitas)
  • 1 quart vegetable oil
  • sprinkle of flaky salt

Instructions

  1. preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. place bacon strips onto a foil-lined baking sheet and bake 20-25 minutes.
  3. transfer bacon onto a paper-towel-lined plate and let cool 15 minutes. once cooled, chop roughly and set aside.
  4. in a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and sour cream, stirring until well combined.
  5. add chopped green onions, bacon, and shredded cheese. season dip with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and ranch seasoning, and mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  6. transfer dip to an 8-inch cake pan (or similar sized dish of your choosing) and bake at 400°F for 25 minutes.
  7. to begin preparing the pita chips, cut each pita into six triangular portions.
  8. in a large frying pan, heat vegetable oil to 350°F. working in small batches, drop in pitas and fry until golden brown, about 30 seconds. be careful, these cook really quickly!
  9. set pita chips onto a paper-towel-lined plate and sprinkle with flaky salt.
  10. once dip is hot and bubbly, remove from the oven. serve with pita chips and enjoy!
