Recipe-

Summary

while most people think of garlic bread as a side for pasta or pizza night, one of my all-time favorite drunchies is the cheesy garlic bread from Dominos. the buttery, carby goodness is the perfect late-night snack to sop up the alcohol after a few too many rounds of tito’s and crystal light. i like to make my own homemade version with a soft, pillowy loaf of french bread, but feel free to substitute with a baguette or any bread of your choice- just be sure to slather every inch with that delicious compound butter.

Ingredients

  • 5 large cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch fresh parsley
  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • ¼ cup freshly shaved parmesan
  • ¼ cup shredded mozzarella
  • 2 tbsp. onion powder
  • 2 tbsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tbsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp. italian seasoning
  • 1 large loaf french bread

Instructions

  1. preheat the oven to 350ºF.
  2. begin by peeling and chopping garlic until finely minced, then chop parsley. place in a large bowl with the softened butter.
  3. chop any larger pieces of shaved parmesan, then add to the mixing bowl along with the shredded mozzarella.
  4. with a gloved hand, massage all ingredients into the softened butter, mixing until well-combined. set aside.
  5. slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise and place on a large baking sheet, cut side up. spread butter evenly over the bread (for extra buttery bread, cut almost all the way through the bread to create slices every 1-2 inches, then fill each crevice with any remaining garlic butter).
  6. bake for 10-15 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and toasty. slice and serve warm.
